FRONT VIEW / DESIGN
SHORT LENGTH.
BIG UTILITY.
Wide shorts, dimensional pockets and restrained contrast.
01 / 06
Shorter length. Full utility shape.
Wide openings and a below-knee length give the shorts a deliberate oversized line. Dimensional pockets sit within that volume, with olive gussets adding contrast to the sand base. The pocket scale should support the silhouette rather than overwhelm a short leg.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
Dimensional thigh pockets, diagonal flaps, olive gusset accents and short restrained webbing details.
MATERIAL DIRECTION
Non-denim woven twill; fabric weight, composition, finish and contrast material agreed during development.

BACK VIEW / DETAILS
SIDE DETAIL.
QUIET REVERSE.
Rear pocket scale supports the below-knee proportion.
02 / 06
Balance the reverse and side volume.
The reverse keeps a quieter pocket arrangement while the side cargo bodies remain visible. Check the rear pocket spacing against the wide seat and how the side pockets sit during movement. Your branding can be developed as a label or small decoration in an agreed position.
REAR CONSTRUCTION
Two rear flap pockets balance the angular thigh pockets. Review back-pocket height, closure and access with the intended below-knee length.
SAMPLE REVIEW
Knee-relative hem position, pocket access and weight, gusset fold, flap clearance and seated comfort.

FIT STUDY / 03
LENGTH.
OPENING.
POCKET SCALE.
- KNEE RELATIONSet the hem against the wearer.
- POCKET HEIGHTBalance the cargo placement.
- OPENINGMaintain a wide short leg.
- RISEChoose the wearing position.
03 / 06
Set length around the pocket layout.
For cargo shorts, length and pocket position need to be approved together. A lower hem changes where the thigh pockets appear on the wearer, and excess pocket weight can affect drape. Define rise, outseam and opening with a knee-relative fit reference, then grade the size range.
MEASUREMENT BRIEF
Waist, hip, rise, thigh, inseam, outseam, leg opening and cargo-pocket height.
APPROVAL & GRADING
Approve the base-size sample and record changes before grading the range. Confirm finished measurements after the agreed finishing and care process.

Make every fold intentional.
The gussets introduce volume at the pocket while the diagonal flap controls the visible outline. Review fold depth, flap overlap and stitch paths on the assembled sample. Keep webbing details at a specified length and inspect attachment points and inside edges after finishing.
MATERIAL CHOICE
Non-denim woven twill; fabric weight, composition, finish and contrast material agreed during development.

ON-BODY / 05
SUMMER
VOLUME.
Cargo volume adapted to a shorter silhouette.
05 / 06
Utility details in a summer silhouette.
A dark compact top lets the light shorts and their layered pockets stand out. Socks and footwear complete the below-knee proportion, so evaluate the outfit as a whole. The moving pose helps show whether the cargo bodies remain balanced within the broad leg.
