FRONT VIEW / DESIGN
QUIET COLOR.
DEFINED POCKETS.
Angular pockets create depth within a quiet taupe palette.
01 / 06
An overshirt with a constructed identity.
Textured taupe twill and sculpted chest pockets turn the overshirt into a considered outer layer. Concealed snaps keep the front clean, while curved sleeve panels and small rust bar tacks add detail at closer range. The boxy hip-length body leaves enough space for layering without extending into a coat silhouette.
DESIGN DIRECTION
A boxy hip-length body, sharp collar, angular flap chest pockets, concealed snaps, curved sleeve panels and rust bar tacks.
MATERIAL DEVELOPMENT
A textured medium-to-heavy woven twill direction. Actual composition, weight, handle and optional lining are selected to suit the intended layering use.

BACK VIEW / DETAILS
SPACE FOR
THE SHOULDER LINE.
A quiet reverse keeps the pocket-led design balanced.
02 / 06
Keep the back simple and functional.
The reverse provides a quieter surface for the shoulder line and curved sleeves. Check back width and sleeve reach with the front fastened over the intended tee or knit. Branding can sit at the neck or upper back without competing with the sculpted pockets on the front.
BACK & INTERIOR
Document back seam paths, any yoke and label placement. Check shoulder movement without pulling across the center back.
SAMPLE CHECK
Flap alignment, snap support, collar roll, sleeve mobility and the balance of pocket thickness against the twill.

FIT STUDY / 03
SHIRT ROOTS.
OUTER-LAYER EASE.
- CHEST EASEFit over your selected underlayer.
- POCKET HEIGHTPlace flaps on the worn garment.
- BODY LENGTHSet the hem around the hip.
- CUFF OPENINGBalance shape and access.
03 / 06
More room than a shirt, less bulk than a coat.
An overshirt needs a clear layering brief. Set chest and bicep ease around the top worn underneath, then confirm body length and pocket height on the sample. The collar and cuff should retain definition while the wider body hangs naturally, rather than becoming a standard shirt sized up indiscriminately.
MEASUREMENT BRIEF
Chest, shoulder, body length, sleeve, bicep, cuff and hem opening; mark chest-pocket height and flap dimensions.
FIT APPROVAL
Review the base size with the intended underlayer. Record changes before grading; confirm finished measurements after the agreed finishing and care process.

MATERIAL & CRAFT / 04
POCKET DEPTH.
CLEAN EDGES.
- FLAP CORNERSControl turning and seam bulk.
- HIDDEN SNAPSApprove backing and operation.
- BAR TACKSPlace reinforcement deliberately.
04 / 06
Shape the pockets around the fabric.
Angular flaps and concealed snap layers can become bulky in a heavier twill. Review corner turning, internal allowances and backing on the actual fabric. Approve the stitch path, bar-tack placement and snap operation together, then check that the flap line remains clean after the agreed care process.
MATERIAL CHOICE
A textured medium-to-heavy woven twill direction. Actual composition, weight, handle and optional lining are selected to suit the intended layering use.
CONSTRUCTION REVIEW
Flap alignment, snap support, collar roll, sleeve mobility and the balance of pocket thickness against the twill.

ON-BODY / 05
TONAL.
CONSTRUCTED.
Tonal cloth, defined pockets and a relaxed outer-layer fit.
05 / 06
Tonal styling, visible construction.
The warm taupe shell works with dark wide trousers and a simple underlayer. Its textured surface and chest-pocket geometry should remain visible in natural light. A different stance helps show how the hip-length body sits around the waistband and how the sleeves move during everyday wear.
COLLECTION CONTEXT
Review the overshirt open and fastened over the layer intended for the collection.

Specify the pocket geometry and layering use.
Share front and back drawings, pocket and flap dimensions, finished size chart and the intended underlayer. Add twill references, snap and cuff details, bar-tack colors, labels and quantities. We review construction and material choices before quotation, then establish the final proportions through sampling.
SAMPLING & QUANTITY
MOQ starts from 50 pieces. Sample lead time is 7–20 days for the agreed scope. Revisions and bulk production schedules are confirmed separately.
APPROVAL BEFORE BULK
Confirm shell, lining or filling where applicable, fit, decoration, trims, labels and packaging before bulk approval. Product testing and report scope are agreed for your project.
BEFORE YOU SEND YOUR BRIEF
Can this be unlined?
Yes. An unlined version needs an agreed internal seam finish. Lining choice depends on the intended season, handfeel and layering use.
Can the chest pockets be simplified?
Yes. Pocket shape, depth, flap and closure can follow your design. Changes are reviewed with the chosen fabric and overall fit.
Is this a shirt or a jacket?
It is an overshirt development direction: a shirt-derived shape intended for layering. Your fabric and fit brief determine how light or substantial the final garment becomes.
